These are the numbers you can get with the numbers 2,5,5,6,7,8 and the numbers can be rounded off to 756 000

    kim->17 970=18 000

kim's answer is more reasonable as it is closer to 18 000 when rounded off.

Today, we learn about Order Of Operation. We must start from the left to right. Example:100x2-50+20=200-50+20=150+20=170
The biggest of all is brackets ( )
The second is multiply and divide X /
The smallest is plus and minus + -

    THE END OF PRESENTING,THANK YOU~

You should always always multiply/divide first. You should add/subtract later. We should go from left to right but not from right to left.

  8. Order of operations
We must always start from left to right. For example:19+6-9+9 so we start with 19+6 and we continue.
other than from left to right we must also start with brackets. For example(19+1)x3 so we have to do 19+1 first

    ReplyDelete
  9. all about order of operations we must always multyply or divide first as they are the KINGS OF KINGS! we must add or subtract later as they are just princes. MUST GO FROM LEFT TO RIGHT. NOT RIGHT TO LEFT.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Order of operations
now back to where we left off:we learned about brackets and how they should come first.
    now we learn about (+,-,x,/)
after brackets we have to do x and / after ()
for example:(56+1)x2+9 so we do x2 after (56+1)

Q:What is the answer for 9+6x5?
    Ans:39
Soultion:We should multiple 6x5 then plus 9 because if there is any multiple(x)or divide sign,we must multiple or divide first. But if there is any ()sign,we must do it first brfore doing multiple or divide first.Bye!

    Qns:6+4x2
solution:It is because we should work from left to right, we should do times and divide first before doing plus and minus even we should work from left to right, as times and divide is so called 'king and queen', so we must do them first but not plus and minus as they are called 'normal' and normal means that it is not as important as the'king and queen' but it is still important. He did their sums wrongly as he did the plus first before the times and got the wrong answer.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The reason (multiplication & division) and (add & subtract) are grouped is when those operations are next to each other you do the math from left to right. You do not necessarily do addition first if it is written next to subtraction.

    Example: 8 - 6 + 2
    2 + 2 Subtraction is first !
    4

    3 + 4 x 5 = 3 + 20 = 23
    Note: 3 + 4 x 5 = 7 x 5 = 35 is wrong answer.
    Note: 3 + 4 x 5 = 4 x 5 + 3 = 20 + 3 =23 is the correct answer.

    A: |______|
    1pole + 1pole +
    1space=30m+10cm+10cm=30m 20cm

    |_____|_____|
    3poles + 2spaces
    =30m+30m+10cm+10cm+10cm=60m 30cm

    27 poles - 1 = 26 Spaces
    26 spaces x 30m =780m
    27 poles x 10 = 270cm = 2m 70cm
    780m + 2m 70cm = 782.7m

  18. about order of operations...

we must always do the working in the brackets first. for example. (15x4)-20 divided by 2=?

we must do 15x4 first. 15x4=60 then we divide 20 by 2=10.

    Then take 60-10=50

p.s it may be wrong :)

    74x2+5-2
    = (74x2)+5-2
    = 148+5
    = 153
    = 153-2
    = 151

Explanation: We should start from left to right. We multiply first as x is bigger than + and -. So we put bracket on 74x2 because we had to do it first. After multipying we get 148 and we + 5 then we get 153 and we - 2 from 153 and get the answer 151.

We must always work from left to right. We must use divide and times first because they are the kings. So,we must do divide and times first before using addition and subtration.Example:
    12+6x2-6=
    6x2=12
    12+12=24
    24-6=18
    This is the correct method.
    Wrong method:
    12+6x2-6=
    12+6=18
    18x2=36
    36-6=30

    .................7+9+(9-3)
    ok.
    first step.

Always do the numbers in the bracket first.

Then do the numbers that are not in the bracket,example:9+3 first, then 7+9.

You must always remember that the brackets are kings of the kings in the order of operations section.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Solution to 1)
since there are 27 poles then are 26 spaces
    27 x 10cm = 270cm = 2m 70cm (breadth of poles altogether)
    Now for the spaces
    26 x 30m = 780m
When we add the together we get the length of the road like so
    2m 70cm + 780m =782m 70cm

The length of the road is 782m & 70cm

for example,2597.the teacher wants us to change the number 5687 into the nearest thousands. 5687->6000

    b) If another 15 children join the kindergarten, what is the maximum number of candy pieces she can give to each child equally?
